

Approaching the end of the first decade of the 21st century, modern cities are putting efforts for the continuous renewal and reinforcement of their infrastructures, within the context of a national and international competition for attracting investment capitals. The City of Athens has begun a pioneering program of city reformation, with the creation of new infrastructures, as well as the maintenance and upgrade of the existing ones.
A valuable contributor and consultant to the materialization of this programme is the City of Athens Development Agency S.A. (AEDA), which acts as a technical consultant to the City for the submission and management of proposals for funding from the Community Support Framework and constitutes the most effective implementation instrument, a development multiplier, through which the City can successfully materialize its policies for the welfare itself and its inhabitants.
